Default Rough Idle

My 94 LT1 auto runs fine sometimes and other times it idles real rough and runs rough at low rpm. Then it usually goes away when the car gets really warm. The plugs and wires are new. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'll kick things off with guessing injectors. A blocked injector can't run rich enough when cold and will be ok when engine is warm and needing a leaner mixture.

Just noticed rough idle myself so will be watching this thread along with you. Meanwhile, dump in some injector cleaner?

First thing I am going to do is plug in this new computer diagnostic gadget that has been laying around in the drawer for a year. Have noticed a lot of people just want to throw money at a problem. This forum is our best friend.

I would start by cleaning your throttle body. You have a 94 so I doubt it is injectors.94 was the first year for SFI injection and the seals in the injectors are real hard to kill compaired to other years.

Better advice than mine. I have the '87 that would be more prone to this problem. What about fuel filter?

Fuel filter should not be an issue ,that would be normal maintance when you do regular check ups for the car.
I know only when the car is dead.
He is also talking about a miss ,number 3 and 5 cylendar were close together on the opti and the wires in the cap always crode,or cross fire.
Do the open the hood in the dark at idle and look on the passenger side for the white blue arc only at idle from the coil.

Default fuel injectors

Just take a ohm reading of all your injectors it should be within 1 ohm the bad injector will be way off the average norm.
