Lunati Rods...
This could save someone TONS of time grinding and clearancing a possible furture setup.
I have always used Crower Stroker Rods in the past and upon putting my setup back together with my now .714 lift cam, the Crower Stroker Rods were hitting REAL bad on the cam during mockup. They previously just cleared the small .880" basecircle cam and now with the added lift, they hit. I could have ground them down more, but instead wanted to find how the pro mod rods would work. I have heard good things about them so I took a trip to summit to compare the two rods. Upon comparing them it looked like the pro mod rods would be a shoe in. So I bought a set.
Mocked up the motor again on Sunday and they all cleared with no problems. There were 4 of them that were super close though. When the cam and rod would pass one other the oil on either would be picked up by the other. About .010 clearance at best. So I did grind them down a little to make sure there was at least .065
All in all though, my setup is rather extreme with a 4.0 stroke, and big lift cam - so clearance is not a thing you have a lot of. Having said that on a small stroked motor the Lunati pro Mod rods should be a great choice for a person putting together an equal stroke or less motor.
Summit sells the rods for 700 dollar, they are good to 850hp, and 8500RPM. Not as good as the Billet rods, but they are probably overkill for anything we are doing. Plus they are over 1200 dollars now.
Hope this helps some of you future stroker guys out.
