I currently have an 85 vette with the stock factory wheels. I am thinking about changing.
question how big a wheel can I go with?
can I use the 17" wheels for a later c4?
anyone have any old wheels they want to let go of that would work??
Yep, you can use later model wheels on your 85 but you'll need adaptors as the back spacing is different. I have the C5 wagon wheels (I hate that name) on my 84, they are 17x8.5 in the front and 18's in the back.
The easist though is to go with something like the AFS 17's with the correct spacing
One of our sponsors.TomZwheels had a nice sale on wheels about Christmas. Not a direct fit for an 85 but doable with adapters. His price for 17's that were a direct fit was very good. I think there are at least a kazillion wheel builders out there now. All price ranges and all kind of styles. Grab your checkbook and start looking. Guess what my Christmas present was.
Hey Square are those Silver or Chrome rims? I have a 87 same color and have been leaning more towards the chrome. Either case your car look great with those rims. They make a big difference.

You can do 19's if you like but I have 18's on all 4 corners. 285/25/18 on C5 Y2K aluminum wheels with a 1.25" adapter. The wheels on my 85 go right to the fender all the way around.
