A 427 at 7000rpm @ 100% VE needs 865cfm.
It's because it's a four-stroke.

STOP. IF you are really interested in a big-inch SBC do two things: first Get a copy of "How to build Big-Inch Chevy Small Blocks" by Graham Hansen. I got mine from www.cartechbooks.com. Second get money,lots and lots of money. The cost of big-inch goes up in direct ratio to the square of the displacement. On second thought,bake that the cube of the displacement.

Darn! I knew I forgot something. Now that the engine is done, I'd better go buy the book.

Like I've always said, the only thing that beats cubic inches, is rectangular dollars.
