Default Warranty VS. Mod ?

Well, soon I will be starting the mod fest again with the new vette. Only this time I've got a factory warranty to deal with. What mods can I do without voiding a bumper to bumper warranty. I damn sure don't won't to screw the warranty up but I would like to atleast throw a few go fast goodies on the car. It's a 96 LT1 by the way.
Thanx for the advice,
Allen

Allen,

I suspect you are going to have to make the call between going fast, or getting a warrentee.

For example, you can install a new radio and not void the warrantee. SEMA has made sure of this. Some factory, but mostly dealer sold warrantee's were designed to make sure you did NOTHING but maintenance. SEMA complained, considering it restraint of trade...

they won. But, you still cannot change internals of the engine or tranny and expect the car to be warranteed.

K&N, new wires, new plugs, cat back exhaust, things like that should not do harm to the warrantee. the only way you can be sure is visit the SEMA site. I think they have some text on this issue.

Also, check the source of your warrantee and the language. If it is a dealer extended, it probably ain't worth the paper it is written on. there are just so many clauses they can use to bail from.

Good Luck. Keep us posted on what you learn.

I put high flow cats, mufflers, 160 thermo, chip, tb bypass, and my ram air system still under my warranty. The dealer only noticed my mufflers The rest were kind of hidden:D.
