my car, '94 lt1 has the stock 17x8.5" front and 17x9.5" rears.. i would like to go 11" wide on the rear but had this thought:
widen the front 8.5" wheels to 11" and use them on the rear, moving my 9.5" rears to the front. question would be do all 4 wheels have the same offset? I think 56mm is the number that comes to mind.. also, i know GS wheels have 50mm offset in the rear, does this mean a 56mm offset 17x11" wheel with 315/35/17 tires would rub?
third, anybody know a good place to have a wheel widen assuming all of this would work? detroit area would be helpful i suppose.

Re: wheel offsets and widening wheels??? (mikey)
It cheeper just to buy 11" wheels but if you want to have yours widen find some circle track guy and ask them this is a common dealfor them due to repairs on their rims.

assuming GM never made any of that style w/50mm offset, then no, doesn't have to be stock.. has to appear stock to match my polished 17x9.5's that i'd like to use on the front.. this still assuming that both front and rear use a 56mm offset and i can move them to the front no problem..
