This is the proper way to ask for help. So that there is no confusion, certain things can be done with the engine running other things should NOT be done with the engine running.
Do NOT short pins with the engine running.
Do NOT disconnect neg term of battery with engine running.
If you have a scanner it will work while the engine is running.
