Default Roll cages?

Does anybody have any pics of their rollcage and close ups of the mounting points? I am still debating between just getting a DRM four point or going to a fabricated six point.

How are you guys attaching the mounting points of the rollcage to the car? Welding the tube directly to the frame?
I'm doing my cage right now also(still) but don't know how to go about this part.

The R-D roll bar has flanges that bolt to the integral bulkheads behind the doors and in the rear to the frame rails. It can be bolted in w/ the provided nutserts and/or welded in if needed or desired.

The R-D S/T Frame Support is well made and not too difficult to install with the bolt-in process But it has to be welded in place to make it legal for SCCA competition (like any other cage).

A base roll cage begins with 8 points. Anything less is merely a roll bar. You would be wise to consult with the tech division of what ever sanctioning body you plan to compete in, before you spend a lot of time, effort, and money, on something they won't accept for your planned endeavors. Some companies sell items with different product names, for a reason. For instance, early on, those pretty chrome bars in a pick up bed were referred to as roll bars. Later they were marketed as "bed bars" or "show bars", because they provided little or no, real rollover protection. If it is just for show, check with your wife or girl friend. If it is for competition, have your tech dept give it the OK.

Installation isn't that bad. Just time consuming. The mandatory tool here is the grinder. Without it, you're out of luck. You can affix the cage/bar (mine's a rollbar) to the frame with bolts, but the proper and best method is welding it.

Mine's welded and you can never tell. I replaced the carpet when I did my bar. I also painted it to make it look that much nicer.

These are a little better at showing the mounting pts. My setup isn't too user friendly but should do the job if (when) I need it.

I'm a another satisfied R-DRacing S/T Frame roll bar user. If you put a real roll cage in a C-4 you'd better be as limber as a monkey to get in and out. Even if you had a removeable bar on the drivers side it would be a major PITA getting in and out, not to mention your wife or girlfriend on the other side.

Im not worried about the wife/ girlfriend situation much. Probaly because my passenger seat has been removed and a coleman cooler installed in its place (long road trips) Anyway i've been looking at some of the original Corvette Challenge setup. With the proper upgrades to meet new rules this should work out very nicely but I will consult an experienced chassis fabricator before any work is done.
