Default Centerforce Dual Friction Comments?

It looks like it is time for a new clutch on my 96 LT4.
I would like some feedback on the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch.
How long does it last? Is there much chatter on launch?
What is the best flywheel to use? (single mass?)
DRM sells a flywheel that is from Camaro but shaved 50 mil
Why is it machined?

To make it fit?

I'm sure it is to get into proper spec for this application. The single mass flywheels can cause noise if the tranny is in nuetral and the clutch is engaged. The centerforce has springs in them to offset this. I have seen one or two complaints about the springs causing bad vibrations and high rpm. I don't think everyone gets this problem though. Heard of on guy who removed the springs to cure the prob. Do a search on clutch, the post wasn't too long ago.

Everybody raves about the Mcleod Street Twin, Dual friction Kevlar. This clutch requires minor grinding of the belhousing to get clearance. One person said it only took ten minues to make the mod to the bell housing.

Here are some of the threads on the Z-28.com forum on centerforce clutches. Some like them and some don't. Here are a couple of links from the LT-1 froum.
"Ya pays your money and ya takes your chances"

I went with an SPEC stage3 Carbon clutch setup with a Fidanza aluminum S/M flywheel. It is rated at 680 BHP or better.
This is what LPE is selling. We shasll soon see how good it is.

I just put the Centerforce Dual friction in my 96. I used the stock flywheel with it. No chatter and it seems to grip good. I was having traction problems launching like I was with the stock clutch. It grabs sooner. The pedal feels the same.
