Default EGR Valve Gasket with Screen

I read in Motor Age that a company had made EGR gaskets with a screen (prevents debris from hitting the EGR pintle area). Has anyone seen one? I unfortunately did not get the name of the outfit when I read the article and can't find teh magazine nor have I found the article on their web site yet. Best regards to all-

Which way does the flow go? In the sides, out the center? The center has a nipple extending into the base manifold.

Yes there is an interference issue with this. Some screen/ manifold designs can accomodate a "basket" to fit the screen. I found the company "Tomco" after refining my search a bit and tehy do not make anything for the older (pre 92) valves-

A screen would just give carbon a place to build up and eventually block off the EGR.

That's what I was thinking. They do a good enough job of doing that anyway, no sense in speeding up the process.
