Anybody got a AARL bin? Would be for an '86 aluminum head, manual trans, 3.07.

Thanks.

Thats a non-closed loop bin by my records (export). Is that your stock bin? I have a BUB which is a US equivalent.

Alvin,
Thanks for the reply. I'm going to have to pull it out and check now. I bought it as a replacement for the stock whose broadcast ID escapes me now. The replacement was listed in TSB 86-1626E dated May87. It was a reissue of 86-162 and included the part numbers for PROMs, both aluminum and iron head '86s with manual and auto transmissions. I ordered part number 1228473 for my '86 convertible with 4+3. My parts book claims 1228473 is for an 86 Corvette Convertible (Y67) M/TRNS (MK2), 3.07R (G44) (EXC KB2, EXPORT) -- EPROM, ECM (CODE 0499AMJ, 1734AARL, 1010AARL). I thought the "(EXC KB2, EXPORT)" meant excluding export. I need to check the actual PROM in the car now. It does go closed loop. It appears fine in all respects. I've been using it for at least 15 years. The new cal only really raised the idle speed. I'm looking for the bin as I'd like to tweak for higher flow injectors.

I'll verify it is an AARL though. Thanks for the heads-up.

Boy-I gotta have my daughter help me with all tech stuff. But, I think your parts book said that because iron heads weren't introduced on all 86s-they first came out in the 86 verts-not even sure if the 86 coupes got them in 86.

Rick,
Thanks for the reply, but I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to say here. Except getting the daughter to help with the tech stuff. I know what you mean there.
Actually the '86 coupes did get aluminum heads starting with VIN #G5119017 or about the last 8778 or so.

Alvin,
Fount the original PROM. It's tag shows that it is an AMJ 0499. The replacement PROM does indeed say AARL 01228473. I'll take it out and download the bin so that's not an issue now that I've dropped the ECM. Thanks anyway.
