Default OBD II Computer ?'s.

I was wondering, if anyone here has had to replace their OBD II computer and if so, did you have to have the dealer retune it with your VIN # or did you have an outside source do the work? I can't get my vehicle to start and have already checked the obvious, so when I hooked up my scanner to scan the computer it's not making a connection with the computer, hence after all the other things I have checked, am starting to sway towards a faulty computer, thanks in advance.

Thanks RED, just wondering if I could get a tuner to possibly do that(PCMforless, fastchips) I don't like going to a dealer unless I have to. Also, would they need the vehicle, or could I just bring them my computer, thanks.

It's kinda of hard to explain .You have 2 computers that are being flashed at the same time. One is the car engine computer ob2 and the other is for the milage. If you drive the car 100 miles the second computer can lock out and is a pain to correct.I don't think the tuner has the complete system to flash a new computer ,but I could be wrong.
