Are these tyre ok???
After a long long search I finally found someone that can sell me 255 x 50 x 16 V or W tyres for my 84 Crossfire. Real hard to find in Spain. It are Pirelly P6000. Cost approx 180 $ each. Can get dunlop though, but cost here 390 $ each!! And I need four So I Checked Internet test reports. One said Very fine tyres, but noisy. Other: Very fine tyres, very quite. An other specialist: better no tyres than these P6000, the next specialist: The best tyres I ever had. Other specialist, Don´t last long. Other opinion: last very long. etc. etc.
Are these guys specialists? I even don´t want them to test my toothbrush!!!
Please help me out guys. Are these Pirelly p6000 tyres good for a stock 84? Please consider that other brands I have to import and 390$ a piece I can´t affort. I can´t get anything else for a normal price, but don´t want to kill my self either because the tyres are bad.

I had a few old P6000 tyres in my hand. they are ver strange, non-symetrical. That means that the outer grooves at the right side of the car always point forward and that the outer grooves at the left side of the car always point rearward. Does that not make the handling asymetrical? But the guys at Pirelly must have known that!! ... I am puzzled.
I had Pirelli P7000 (274/40/17) for 2 years, very good in the wet, not too bad on dry. I moved to Firestone Firehawks after for better dry traction. No idea about P6000..... Tire rack says not a bad all season tire.

I wished it was as easy to select tyres here as it is in the USA. 180$ is really about the best price you can get here. Only the non symetrical issue bathers me really a lot. I can´t immagine that it does not have a negative effect at the handling. Has anybody an opinion about it?
Damn, if you wanna really be cheap, you could do a shortcut and get some 235/55/16 or even 225/60/16 tires. They are the same height as a 255/50/16. Those narrower tires are a lot more common than the tire you want. Even Wal-Mart possibly would sell them.
Of course if you race your car, these options wouldn't be very good for you at all. But at least they should do their job and get you from point A to B.

We don´t have walmarkt in Spain. And thats the place I live. So that also the reason that I like to know if the non-symetrical issue of thge only available tyre here is a problem or not.

Sumitomo HTR Z, $70
Don´t make me jalous. That are prices we can´t even dream of.
I can buy all of these brands, but none does have the size 255 x 50 x 16V of W
They simply claim that they are not produced.
I think I just have to import myself if they don´t want to do that.

You are the first I hear that did actually try the P6000.
Please tell me if you noticed anything about the non symetrical issue. It really worries me, can´t immagine that it is a good thing to make your car non symetrical.

DO NOT let the tread pattern bother you. Many tires have non-symetrical tread.
If those are the cheapest/most available tire you can find, get them.
You will not have any unusual problems with them.
Hmmmm. How much would it cost for a CF member to ship a set of Goodyears to Nico???? Could FedEx ship internationally???
