One last task, if it's easy--and I don't think this is in the Shop Manual--
How do you get the 6spd shifter **** off? LT1 6spd.
Thanks
With a screw driver you gently pry off the plastic cover (contains the pattern) in the middle of the ****. Then you look down inside and see a key in a slot of the shifter. Pull out the key with pliers and unscrew the shifter ****.
I took an old screwdriver and bent the tip in a 90 degree. It pops the key right out. I am always in the console so I left the key out. The **** does not move!
If the pliers don't work, grab it with a vice grip and pry the vicegrip with a screwdriver then unscrew the ****.
To add, the safest and easiest way is to clamp with some small vise grips and gently tap in an upward direction with a hammer. You won't bonk yourself in the head nor will you put your fist through the roof.

Ha, Ha, no roof left. Thanks guys, I'll try it and see.
