Default 4.10's in an LT4

Those of you that installed 4.10's in an LT4, how do you like the gears in the street? Did it change your milage at all?

Is the time you gain because of the gearing/launch lost because of the extra shift in the 1/4 mile?

I have them also,

You can go through the gears pretty quick, and you can use 6th on the freeway now.

I enjoy them, I recommend them...

I have 3.73's in my GS, I would have liked to use 4.10's to get the most out of the car on motor but with NOS it would have been a little too much gear.

I say go for it, you wont be sorry

Mike

When I bought the GS I was use to the 4:10s in my 95 so the car felt like a dog till I put the gears in. I had the GS for a week before I put them in. They should be in there from the factory :D

4.10's are awesome on the street and on the track. I agree it should have came from the factory that way.

Who cares about gas mileage, it's a vette! ;)

Yeah.. i gotta get the 3.07's outta mine and either get 3.73 or 4.10's in there. Most likely 3.73's. (cheaper to stick with the dana 36)

Yeah, I just put 4.10s in my LT-1 and they put you on the meat of the HP and torque curves.
Around town it I am shifting a bit more, and it is strange going into 5th at 36MPH  in economy mode, but I really like the new gears overall.

I've gone on the freeway, and 75MPH is still under 2K RPM, so it is quite drivable even on long hauls.

I'm eager to get back to the track and see what difference my Corsa cat-back and the gears does to my 1/4 mile times. :D

But I'm still in my break-in mode right now.
