I had my '86 on a tech 1 scanner last night and it said the 3rd gear switch was on or engaged. I was in park, I tried shifting and the reading stayed the same. Could this be a switch threaded into the valvebody?
Also I have the hypertech chip and the directions say if you have to take your car to the dealer to swap the old chip back in, because it will give scanners strange readings?
I could swap in the old chip and re-scan it, but ran out of time. Anyone familiar with this?
Every 86 vette trans I have been in have been set up the same way. Terminal A is the red wire that gives the positive to the solenoid. The other terminal, D, goes to ground. There is no 4th or 3rd switch.
