Thanks for the help. I really hope the timing cover isn't leaking. From the pictures, it appears to be further up the front of the cover- between the opti and the water pump shaft area. Once I get the opti out, I'll have a better idea of the problem.
Can you explain the WP driveshaft callar installation? I'm doing this without the aid of a service manual. (yes, I will be buying one as soon as a used one appears in the F/S section).

If your WP is bad then this caused the WP drive shaft to wobble due the bad WP bearings. This caused the seal to leak around the drive shaft. I own a 93 and I have just removed a bad WP. I discoverd that the WP drive shaft seal was causing my oil leak that showed up a few months ago. My opti almost fell aprt in my hands when I removed it so that I couls replace the seal. I am currently waiting on Dynaspark to catch up on there orders so I can obtain there gen I opti. Hope this helps.

PS. Now I know why some guys go the the trouble of installing an electric WP.
