I thought a time or two about bagging the borlas(BUT keeping them in case I went deaf) and trying elims. Are there any 383 Doods that have taken off the muffs and gone elims? This thing really wakes the dead in the still of the night. I heard it before late at night..and it's loud. LOL the neighbors would really love it if I took off the muffs.
I replaced the my MAD Eliminators with a Flowmaster cat-back(87 with no Cats). They both sound really cool. Inside the car the MAD Eliminators are only slightly louder and both only had only moderate resonance in my case. Outside at idle, they are about the same. Anywhere above idle the eliminators are 1.5-2 times louder. I really liked the eliminator on the freeway , but driving around town it was to much (and I'm only 21 with a big stereo). If you run eliminators and no cats on a daily driver you’ll get really tired of having to be very light on the throttle to avoid waking the neighbours (especially with the L98). While changing lanes to pass on a normal city road (30-40 mph), people would stop on the side walk and stare! As far as looks go, they are both equally cool.
My vote goes:
Daily driver with no Cats: Flowmasters.
Non daily driver or all Cats inplace: Eliminators
I have the MAD Elims and I hate them.... At WOT the whistle. I called MAD and they said they cannot fix the sound due to the velocity of the air. I am buying CORSA this year at Funfest. If you want to buy some elims I will sell mine cheap!!!!
I would definitely eliminate the mufflers, but I wouldn't waste my money on MAD eliminators. I went to my local muffler shop and let them eliminate the mufflers, cost me 100 bucks.
There's not that much resonance, I don't even think it was all that loud, when I had the resonator taken out, it became quite abit louder.
