I was wondering about a 383. I plan on one this year for my '88 and I basically have two options: buy a ZZ383, drop it in there and be done with it or, use my existing block and have a local shop assemble the long block to ZZ383 specs.
Economically speaking, would they be that close to where it wouldn't be worth the hassle to use my own block and do my own work? I mean, assuming that I'd be busy with stuff like work, etc...

For the love of god pl DO NOT use ur own block, use a different block with new rotating assembly, if anything happens u always a backup. period.
