I replaced the opti on my '94 LT1 last night and got the check eng light on start up. I got a code C34 (MAP sensor low press/hi vacuum). The car ran great on a test drive in spite of the light. On the advice of the local GM dealer service rep (he's a vette guy - c5/6, though),I disconnected the battery for twenty minutes after installing a new MAP, the check engine light stayed off for a couple minutes after startup and got code C34 again.
Disconnected the battery, waited a few minutes, restarted and the same thing - no light for a minute or two, then the check engine light and code C34. The lock snap on the ECM wiring harness plug is broken off.
Are you saying the lock clip on the MAP sensor is broke?Mine was and I used a small Tywrap to hold it on.Clean it with contact cleaner and use some di-electric grease when you put it back on.

If it is not making good contact yes.You can go to a boneyard and cut one off any LT1 too but the small tywrap works fine for me and is barely noticable. One of these days I will fix it.
