Default I hate plastic vacuum lines

While removing the intake on my vette i managed to crack or snap several of those small plastic vacuum lines that have become brittle after 20 years.

I cant seem to find any replacements on any of the websites. i need to replace all of the lines. Surely im not the only one that has had this problem. Anyone know where i can find a vacuum hose kit for an 86??

You could try Mid-America, but I dont see why you would want to replace them with plastic lines unless thats all they have. I'd get rubber ones if you can find some for your vette.

Same here, more trouble than they are worth (plastic). Less chances for leaks, the smoother it will run.

Even if I could get a plastic line kit cheap, I would not put that back on. Rubber all the way for me. Randy

Or you might want to try some steel (brake type line) tubing. There's also aluminum tubing (fuel line), but not as popular and I haven't seen much in the smaller sizes.

You can find the plastic lines at a large truck store. They use this stuff in there air brake systems. It is fairly cheap. Just bend it to the desired shape with a heat gun.

When replacing plastic line with hose, I like to use the cloth braided hose that is used on some European cars.

I get mine from Wurth USA.

Good stuff.

You can purchase replacement plastic vacum hose kits for the intake from ecklers.com. I just replaced mine the cost was about $15.00. Worked well for me, the other ideas mentioned are just as good or better. Hope this helps
