Heat range for spark plugs
How do I determine the optimum spark plug heat range for my configuration?
Specs:
1993 Black LT1 6-speed
Ported LT1 Heads (285 cfm@.550)
Matched intake (to TB and heads)
Compcams (0.574/0.571, 236/234 duration, 112 LSA +2*)
52mm TB
30# FMS injectors
Thanks!

I had read something at some point about dropping down a heat range for every 150 hp added. But, there are obviously other factors that will influence the correct heat range.
For me, it was a little bit of trial and error. I started out with a lower heat range plug in my 383, but found that the stock heat range was producing a cleaner plug, so I went with the stock plug. I figured better to start out lower and end up with carbon plugs than a plug that was too hot
