This s for my Dad, I own a 99 coupe and he owns a 96 Collectors Edition LT4. He wants to delete his cats. He has a cat-back exhaust with no mufflers. Is there a mid pipe or something that will bolt to his stock manifolds and bolt to his Cat-back? Help me on this cause Im not to familier with the C4 performance. Thanks for the help!
Any decent exhaust shop should be able to fab up some pipes to connect his manifolds to the cat-back exhaust. If he decides to do that though he will either need to get some O2 simulators for the rear O2 sensors, or he will need to have the computer reprogrammed to remove the rear O2's.
A better option for him would probably to wait to get rid of his cats until he plans on getting a set of long tube headers. The stock cats on an LT4 flow very well, so he really won't gain much in terms of performance by removing them.
it will increase the volume and badass factor of his exhaust though. i did my exhaust in that order on my LT4. fist i got rid of the mufflers with straight pipe. then i got rid of the cats, now i have headers as well. next will be an X pipe instead of the resonator. it will sound quite a bit different under a load if he removes the cats. idle isnt that big of a change

Yes there is, GM makes a Off Road pipe, i guess you can call it that, for oversease vettes that run leaded gas and no cats. I know Chris May can help you at superior chevrolet. They arent cheap, I imagine as they are for exports.
But, they bolt in with no cutting , welding etc etc.
