There is some gabriel shocks for 19.95 for 2 or 39.90 for 4. Are gabriel any good, are they equal to the stock ones? Are they really soft, will the car pitch and roll like a small boat?
The price is right for a guy on a budget or if you are replacing them so you can sell it.
Go with some KYB's. You can pick them up at summit racing(summitracing.com) for a good price. I just put them on my 85 and it made a big difference in the cornering and has a nice ride. Ipreviously had some worn out gabriels on it before.
I'd stick w/ Bilstein as the factory found out.
If you can't find them locally, drop me an email and I can put you in touch with my racing contact showshine@aol.com
Go with a set of KYB's from Summit Racing. They sell for $20.00 each, very little for shipping and KYB's are very good for the money. When I installed mine, it was like driving a new car.

They are better than no shocks at all.
But, not much.
The original (stock) shocks are Bilstein, which are just about the best non-adjustable shock you can buy.
Gabriel's are...as you alluded to...for the guy who cannot afford a good shock.
Ones on EBAY are a ripoff and a sanction to the safety of others. If your going to drive this fine automobile atleast give it some dignity and not some sloppy *** ricer shox
