Test driving a '93 C4 showed some judder when accelerating hard in top gear (automatic). No symptoms on other gears accelerating or slowing...
Anyone know the cause of this and a possible fix?
The car hasn't seen the inside of a service bay for some time!
It looks a steal - convertible with hard top, 52,000 miles only asking $9,000.
I'm not sure what you mean by judder. Do you mean a stumble in the engine or a shuddering in the drivetrain? Many of us seem to have a shudder or vibration when accelerating from 40-50 mph in 4th gear.
I think I know what you mean by judder, there is a sound on my 89 roadster (automatic) that is a light banging sound, possibly what you call a judder, if the car you are looking at has a cross brace, corner to corner as all roadsters do it probably is this cross brace hitting the exhaust pipe there is a tight fit there but as the exhaust system gets warmer this judder will go away, hopefully this helps
