i have a 90 vette. i am contemplating putting underdrive pulleys on it from mid america. has anyone done this and if so how much has it helped/ can you tell a difference. Also i am fond of the 84-91 dual chambered exhaust pn 618-958...has anyone used this and if so how loud is it and has it helped any with performance.
Any exaust on a 90 wil help the engine. As far as pullies I have never been convinced taht it will realy help a vett.I do know I pick up .20 in the 1/4 mile when I disconect my alt.

Really? Does this hurt anything? So just disconnect it, and thats it?
I have the TPIS pulley kit - I agree with the throttle response enhancement. Go for it 88, with the mods you already have you will see more of a benefit than with no bolt-on mods.

10-4. i have a new set laying around. might as well throw them on, and see what happens.
I have a version of that dual kit on my '85 (the one from corvette central, which has an H crossover welded in) -see my website if you want pics of it on. I'm not familiar with the exhaust setup on your '90, I'm pretty sure its similar to mine, and that kit made one helluva difference on my '85. I did that over a custom setup because I wanted to be able to work on my car myself and not send it to a shop. But that is another option if you dont mind it.
I dont go to the drags, so I have no evidence to back that up however....
well the mods i have currently on the car are a performance chip, colder thermostat, k&n, gm performance plugs and wires, and flowmasters (dont really count). hey 88 z-51...interested in selling those pullies? and how loud did it make your car when you switched the exhaust.
Put the pulleys on. You WILL notice a TQ increase with them. Many moons ago I had a 89 rag with 2.59 gears. Car couldn't squeal its tires on ice (no **** to the Sherlock Homos that is isn't going to squeal on ice.) Anyway, I put pulleys on it and the SOB could squeal them. If that isn't an increase on the low end, nothing is. I have A LOT of Gtech runs from back in the day to show the increase. IMO, it is a mod well worth it.
I also ran an aftermarket Stereo and 250 watt amp, I could see the headlights pulse at a stoplight at night but NEVER had an ill effect on my battery, NEVER. People read too much BULLSHT on line and take it as the gospel truth.
March Power and Amp, good pulley set, 3 piece. I got mine from TPiS.

I happen to have a video of his car uploaded.
Sounds really deep and throaty!
I have the March polished aluminum underdrive pullies. The motor revs much quicker and I felt a seat of the pants feel. Definatly recommended. they WORK !!
