Default pullys and exhaust

i have a 90 vette. i am contemplating putting underdrive pulleys on it from mid america. has anyone done this and if so how much has it helped/ can you tell a difference. Also i am fond of the 84-91 dual chambered exhaust pn 618-958...has anyone used this and if so how loud is it and has it helped any with performance.

The pulleys will unload a few HP's for sure.

Most importantly, the throttle response is greatly enhanced!

Really? Does this hurt anything? So just disconnect it, and thats it?

Any idea how many HP's? Do you think they are good for 1mph at the track?

I have the TPIS pulley kit - I agree with the throttle response enhancement. Go for it 88, with the mods you already have you will see more of a benefit than with no bolt-on mods.

Track tests of the pulley sets show about a tenth on stock engines, which corresponds to about 10hp. The exhaust system should net about the same.

The alt takes alot of power from the engine .The water pump not as much but you add it up it's comes to a sizeable amount of HP.

I have a version of that dual kit on my '85 (the one from corvette central, which has an H crossover welded in) -see my website if you want pics of it on. I'm not familiar with the exhaust setup on your '90, I'm pretty sure its similar to mine, and that kit made one helluva difference on my '85. I did that over a custom setup because I wanted to be able to work on my car myself and not send it to a shop. But that is another option if you dont mind it.

I dont go to the drags, so I have no evidence to back that up however....

Put the pulleys on. You WILL notice a TQ increase with them. Many moons ago I had a 89 rag with 2.59 gears. Car couldn't squeal its tires on ice (no **** to the Sherlock Homos that is isn't going to squeal on ice.) Anyway, I put pulleys on it and the SOB could squeal them. If that isn't an increase on the low end, nothing is. I have A LOT of Gtech runs from back in the day to show the increase. IMO, it is a mod well worth it.

I also ran an aftermarket Stereo and 250 watt amp, I could see the headlights pulse at a stoplight at night but NEVER had an ill effect on my battery, NEVER. People read too much BULLSHT on line and take it as the gospel truth.

March Power and Amp, good pulley set, 3 piece. I got mine from TPiS.
