I have and easy question for you guys. Would a 94 rearend fit an 84 without any modifications? This would be the entire axle tire to tire. I also tried to search what the gear ratio would be on a stock 94 but couldn't find it.
thanks in advance
Yes. Wheel to wheel or differential only. Whatever your pleasure. 1988 and up has a wider track and for everything to fit like factory, you may need wheels with more offset.
RACE ON!!!
PS. "This would be the entire axle tire to tire.". With the wheels...you are golden. The ratio should be stamped on the bottom of the diff, ASSUMING it's never been changed. It will depend on the transmission, whether it has the "performance" ratio, or not, and maybe whether it is a convertible or not.

Reason: PS.
Thanks CFI, this is interesting because I think mine has been changed to a 94. This would explain a couple of things then. On the axle it is written as if it were from a junk yard or something in yellow "1994" and is hand written. It may also explain why, when I put the 315's on that the passenger side sticks out farther than the one on the drivers side. I posted this problem last year but never figured out the exact reason for this, and this may be it. One more question, what is the gear ratio of the 94, stock?
