If you have an M6 you got it.If you have an A4 it may need TV cable adjustment I say MAY NEED probably not.
AHH, The transmission was replaced, repaired a while back and I am wondering if I need to adjust that.
I did do what you said and it stayed the same, it clicked and went right to where it was before. I am leary to adjust the TV cable without a pressure guage. I may mark it and adjust it to see if it makes any difference.
After this I will have to readjsut my TPS sensor(mines modified to adjust it, and its at .75 volts at idle and 3.9 WOT)
You really need the FSM to do the TV cable it is different from anything else.Did the cables move when you pushed the buttons? You have to press them hard enough that they slide out.If you did and heard clicks when you did the pedal push it is something on your TB linkage that needs adjustment. Can't help you there.

I have the FSM. I did do the cables and the are a PIA to get the button to press. But it didnt do anything to the adjustment.
I may do the TV cable, with a mark prior to doing it. This way I can see if the TV cable needs adjusment, and I can have my transmission guyadjust it properly.

Sorry, Red, you are usually right on about stuff, but this time you aren't.
These cables are not braided, they are twisted, and you cannot generate enough force to actually stretch the steel with your foot.
Some metals will exhibit "creep", but steel isn't one of them.
As I said, they "wear in", and in 140K miles, the wear may be noticeable, in which case we all describe it as "stretch". The wear can come from a lot of places; gas pedal pivot, throttle body shaft and linkages, etc.

I do have one of R&D racing's gas pedal aluminum brackets. I may just put that in there, as I heard they can reduce slop in the throttle.
