I have one question to you all, may you suggest a camshaft you will use in following configuration:
Corvette L98, auto trans, year 1991 with the following mods:
- forged strocker 383 cui
- heads Trick Flow with 2,02 intake and 1,6 exhaust valves
- intake: Accel Super Ram
- TB 2x58mm
- 30 lbs/hr injectors Ford Motorsport
- Long tube headers
- Borla exhaust with no cats
- torque converter stall speed 3000
What the camshaft do you suggest to use with this moddifications,
the car should be not street legal at all,
especially we are looking for camshaft to have the idle speed not higher than 900-950 per min.
Thanks in advance.
You have pretty the same configuration as mine.
I use LPE 219 cam. You can go a little more with a cam with more duration if with your 3000 rpm stall converter you add also a short ratio on the differential.
If you want a cam with a stable idle from 850 900 rpm the 219 is the right cam.

Thank you for your quick reply ,I thought about this camshaft ,
how many horse power gave you your set up? did you try the car on the dragstrip? if yes what was the result.
Thanx

I'm happy with my Comp XR276HR-12 08-503-8, which is slightly bigger duration-wise, than what has already been suggested 224/230 at 0.050.
I would think that with a 383 and stall you could go even bigger. Check out the comp XFI cams. The new Lunati Voodoo series looks interesting too. Both seem to have lots of lift with a 113 LSA.
Also check out the cam used in the super rod tpi comparison posted in a sticky on thirdgen. Its a Comp Extreme energy 230/234 110 lsa, I think, and was used in a 383 for the comparison.
