If you are going to leave you 85-89 parked out for awhile, you could rig up a kill switch that cuts power to your MAF and CTS. Or just unplug them and let them sit like they are plugged in. The car ain't going anywhere. In my case, the car started for .4 seconds and then stalled out! Would leave the theif's mind all-out confused. If they know how to diagnose it, they'd have to figure out how to pop open the hood first. I actually felt comfortable with my car parked at a bar overnight because I was too drunk to drive home.
Theives would probably try to diagnose and look at the fuel pump circuit first than anything else. CTS, c'mon man, most people don't even know how to diagnose a CTS problem and overlook it completely! The computer would think that the coolant temp is -33 degrees and pulse the injectors at a nice 1.2:1 A/F ratio! That for sure wouldn't even come close to starting the car, unless you live way up in Siberia.
Realistically, is a thief going to trouble shoot a 20 year old car worth well under 10K?
Not unless he has the weekend and some spare time.
So a kill switch is effective as long as it's disabling - and hidden. Besides, unplug just the CTS sensor and I bet the car still starts, I know mine does. But, to each his own!

Just wire a relay up to a block of C4 or Semtex, & when the thief trys to start it, you can collect on the "agreed upon value" from the insurance company.
