Default rear bearing installation

Ok, I am finally at the point to start putting the rear end back together...

My new bearing shipped with some strange parts that were not removed with the old one, and I am trying to figure out if I need to put them on or not...

When I removed the old bearing, there was just a large, thin washer behind the bearing unit.

The new one comes with a metal / rubber 'seal' (dosent really fit on the new bearing unit anywhere, and also a large, skinny rubber 'o' ring that dosent seem to fit anywhere either...

Any advice here? I am considering just throwing those extra parts away and forgetting about them

That large metal/rubber seal may be the dust boot that goes into the aluminum knuckle. There are no orings though.

There was no such seal in the knuckle originally... I just put the dang thing together without it... any risk?

I have 2 rear wheel bearings sitting on my workbench waiting to be put into the Vette. There are two very thin washers (P/N 14076924) that were not included with the bearings that I went to a GM dealer to purchase ($7+ each ).

I have the thin washers and they go onto the driveshaft before pushing into the knuckle / bearing... I just need to know what to do with or at this point, if it is ok to leave the rubber/metal seals out since no part like that came out of the original...

I used mine as frisbees and threw them in the garbage. Been on for over a year, about 5,000 miles, no issues at all.
