we did it on a 94 auto.. and used stock 1.5 rockers. With electric water pump the car ran 13.3s.. Use 1.6 rockers with taller springs.
The hot cam with new springs and roller 1.6 rockers would give you lots more pizzazz.

YA, if your going to swap cams, go for the LT4 hotcam. The kit is around $500. Includes cam, 1.6 roller rockers, springs, and retainers.

You will need to upgrade your chip to get it to idle properly.

In case you didnt know, there is a difference between the LT4 cam and a LT4 hotcam. The LT4 cam was stock production on a LT4 and the lift and duration is almost the same as a LT1. The LT4 had 1.6 rockers where as the LT1 only came with the 1.5 rockers. This makes the cam seem bigger on a stock LT4.
Now if you are referring to the LT4 Hotcam, this was built by chevy as a offroad (non emissions cam) upgrade. A lot of us use it and it gives a healthy increase in power. It can be tuned to pass emissions, but GM did not have it tested so it is sold as off road use.
