engine stamping number????

engine stamping number????
i am preparing my 1984 ( unrestored ) to go to bloomington gold and i need the engine stamping number, the casting number and date. where do i find them? i do not want to make a mistake on the information that i have to give to register. any help would be appreciated.

The engine stamping numbers are on the right deck surface, forward of the right head. I believe the cast number you want is in the top of the bell housing attachment area, behind the distributor.

The "stamping number" is on a small pad on the passenger side of the block at deck height. It's next to impossible to see with the A/C compressor in place. You may have to pull the compressor and loosen the bracket to get the numbers. If the block is original, it will have the last few digits of the car's VIN.
Some engines had the number stamped on a pad just behind the oil filter. The number would appear vertically.
The block casting number is just in front of the bellhousing to the passenger side of the distributor.
