What is max pressure in trans cooler lines?
I'm planning to install additional trans cooler so while I'm at it
I'd like to install new lines to heve everything neat and tidy.
I know the internal valve bodies get up into the 200PSI ranges, but I would guess the coolant line would be low - around maybe 10-20psi? Just enough to circulate fluid. I think I ran the tranny with an open line to pump out fluid (briefly) and it was not that quick.
You want to use the high-end (300psi rated) hoses though so they'll put up with the heat and last.

After it goes through the cooler, the fluid returning to the transmission then is fed into the trans bearing lube circuit. So the pressure certainally is not near zero, but I don't know how high it is.
when looking at the trans, the bottom line is "out" or to the bottom of the cooler.
The top line is thus "IN" to the transmission (ie the return) and would come out of the top of the radiator also.
thanks for the reply...that is what i thought. i run a 185 t-stat so, this summer i may put in a cooler as i had in my 81 before the radiator which may "stabilize" my h2o temps by running a bit cooler (not that they are far out of line or any trash around the radiator).
