88 master cylinder exchange years?

88 master cylinder exchange years?
greetings,
i acquired a master cylinder from a 1990 vette. i have a 1988 vette. the only outward physical difference is the the dual reservoirs on the 90 version are mounted with a bit of a slant whereas, the 88 version is mounted vertically. can i use the 90 in place of the 88?
also, if there is a "big deal" with the reservoirs, how do i remove the reservoirs from my 88 and transfer to the 90 m/c body? last; is there any braking force difference between the 88 and the 90 master cylinders?...thanks again forum.
