Hello all, On my 90 coupe,I have the analog water temp guage and its kinda hard to get an accurate reading of the water temp.It has 100 on one end of the scale and 260 on the other end,and my needle usually runs somewhere near the middle.I was wondering if there is a way to get a digital reading of the temp.Woudn't this be more accurate? Thanks in advance.
OK, so we know 92 and up has it and 89 and earlier, we need a 90-91 to clarify for sure.
I do know that where my dash has Eng/Met and gauges, the '91 doesn't. It has different buttons.
90-91 DON'T have the digital readout.. the CCM Sneds the digital readout to the cluster, those gauges on the LCD in the 92-96 come from the ECM to the CCM then to the cluster. this is one thing the 90-91 lack..
Also you cannot swap the cluster as the LCD display is different and adding in the 92 CCM (in a 90-91) with cause the CCM to Flash the SYS light (code 41 I think) for no Serial communication.. Trust me I found out the Expensive way during my 91 interior conversion..
I am still thinking of doing an Autometer Gauge swap in my vette, if I can even find a nice way to layout the gauges
Thanks all for your input,at least now I won't try to find something I don't have. The main reason for my question was to try to find out out if my fans are coming on when they're suppoosed to.Hard to get an accurate reading on that analog guage, seems like the fan comes on when the guage is almost on 260,which sure seems high.Looks like I'll be installing a manual fan switch.
