A little help here...i.m replacing the stock LT4 fuel pressure regulator with a new Breathless adjustable one. When looking at it i'm not sure on the removal process. Does the gray line going into the regulator pull out by pressure or is that large nut holding it on?.The large nut is over an inch and i,m not sure if its there to hold the bracket on or the line. Ive relieved all of the pressure and tested prior just not sure how the line going into the regulator comes out. Also the instructions from Breathless are poor at best. I know the vacumn line ataches where the old one was but is the adjustment made with the bolt and nut that is beside it?thanx....G
I replaced my stock one on my 95 with a TPIS unit several years ago. I seem to recall that only basic hand tools were needed. The fuel pressure regulator is just a press fit--remove the old one and install the new one. As you proceed it becomes obvious. There is an adjusting nut on the tip of the TPIS unit and I assume the adjustment on the Breathless is similar.
you have to remove the fuel rail... and there is a big assed screw that retains the FPR to the rail.
You will need to relieve the fuel pressure before starting this project. and you will need a fuel pressure gauge (unless this unit has one) to set the pressure correctly.
