Default Al Koch Seatcovers?

I've been reading about seat covers from this guy.

Are these slip-on seatcovers like the wet Okole's or real seat covers that need to be professionally put on the foam, etc..

Also how durable are they? Can they ben cleaned like wet okole's, any pictures of white/black seats from them? I will be looking for a set to protect my white leather seats in my '92..

They are reporduction 'real' seat covers, so you'd need to do the full installation. It's possible they also sell slip-on covers, but I'm not aware of that.

I've heard very good comments on Al's quality. I bought seats from them a while back for my previous 'Vette and they were very nice.

They are not slip on like Wet Okole. They are factory replacements. To be honest, they are better than the factory seats. I bought his seats on foam last year for my 89 and the car never looked better. Very impressed with the quality of his work.

Cleaning these would be the same thing as any leather seat (Lexol etc...)

Not just lots of NCRS guys, but anyone who can afford what is arguably the best. You can find a custom leather worker who can do as good a job, but probably not as consistently, or as many. This guy's got quite a reputation, and it's well deserved. It's all about the materials and the workmanship. I've seen literally dozens of his work installed.

Default Al Knoch seat covers

Check these out. These are from a forum member. You can go to the general section of this forum and do a search on Seatcovers.

It appears the quality is very good from Al Knoch seatcovers. I am saving up some $$ so that I can get a set.

Thanks,
Tim

These are the Al Knoch "seatcovers" in my 87. I don't have a pic that's aimed at the seats themselves, but I can vouch for the quality. I bought the covers and foam intending to install them on the sport seats myself. Before I decided to have a local shop do the work, I spoke with Al about the install. He is a laugh a minute.

I bought a set of seat covers from Al and put them on my 93 sport seats myself. Just bought a pair of hog ring pliers, took my time and they came out perfect. Quality is excellent and they fit like factory!

Al Knoch leathers are the best. I bought a set off of Al himself. A couple of years ago nobody had the correct foam for a 1990 sport seat base. They all were using a modified mold from a 92. I purchased foam from Corvette Central, Ecklers and Mid America. I ended up sending them back because they were not exact. That is when I crossed paths with Mr. Knoch. He told me that the molds were destroyed and he needed a pristine set of original foam to make a mold. My car at that time had 24K on it and nobody hardly ever sat in the passengers seat. I offered up my foam . He made molds from it. He now has the correct sport seat base foam. I covered my seats myself with the new foam and his leather. He told me a secret to a great job. Bond a thin piece of batting to the foam. I choose to use synthetic. Shape the batting with a pair of sissors. Then apply the covers. The batting will keep the leather puffed up and will form itself to the covers. It makes for a nice smooth professional job. I have pictures If anyone wants me to send them.
Good Luck

Al Knoch is a great guy and does great work. I went to the Knoxville corvette expo looking for seat covers for my '89 vert. He has a cheaper show price than his site offers and he even installed mine for free since I had my car there. I have been reading this site for a long time and this is my first post. I uploaded pictures of my seats to the gallery which I hope show up under my photos under my avatar, but I'm not sure where they went. I do a lot of computer work on the side, but attaching a pic here is complicated if you don't have your own web site which I don't. Well worth the money if you need new pads ands seat covers, especially if you get the free install. Hope my pics are viewable.

Anyone have pics of 95 standard style seats from Al Knoch? Can the seat be bought and done in sections? The bottom cushion on the drivers seat is the only one starting to wear bad. I'm a little confused by the catalog. Here are the options for my model. I'm assuming the bottom one is just the foam. What about the other two? What is the difference?

Standard Leather Seat Covers-COMPLETE SET-Light Beige-LST949607-$630-set

Standard Seat Cover-Leather on foam-Light Beige-LFC949607-$800-set

Standard Seat Foam Set-COMPLETE SET-SFD949600-$289-set

Thanks

My seats are at the local vette shop now having the new Al Knock covers installed as we speak. I was going to do it myself but I have just been too busy with work and some other things and I wanted it done asap. I will post a pick of the seats when I pick them up
