I just finished doing this on my '85 RX-7. I don't know if it's the same on the Vette but what I did was to put a hose on the bleeder valve with the other end in a small glass. I poured hydraulic fluid into the glass to about 1/2" deep. This allows the hose to push air out and suck hydraulic fluid back in. Pump the clutch until the bleeder valve stops blowing air. Close off the bleeder valve and you're done. Don't let the master cylinder reservoir get too empty while doing this or you'll just suck air into the system. It usually takes one two fills of the reservoir to get all the air out.
