update on the ABS system..
THis what i found..
There is som MAJOR oxide on ALL of the electrical connectors around the ABS compter, dont understand what the oxide are coming from..
Unscrewd the abs computer and took it apart.
The hole mainbord whas full of oxide, and som componets hat RUST on them.
I even tried to start the car with the abs computer disconnected, the same light whas on in dash, "ABS active" and "Service ABS". So i think the ABS computer is wasted. I cleand all the connectors.
One thing that whas a bit strange whas on one of the connectors coming out from the abs computer. It had 3 wires going to a connector that hade a diod shorten togheter at the end. And when i took the diod away the "serive ABS" ligth go away... strange.. But the ABS dident work annyway. Cant understand what that whas..
Well how much is a new abs computer, and where to get it?
Regards
I would take the computer apart - you have nothing to loose, really - and get some GOOD quality electronics cleaner. Soak the sucker! Spray it down with the cleaner. You may need a stiff NYLON brush (don't wanna use metal) and scrub it clean.
Take all the connectors and clean them again. Using something like the contact cleaner, you can use a small file to rub them clean. when done, spray the contacts with lithium white grease.
Finally, pick a connector under the dash board. make sure it too is clean. If it is'nt, you may wanna sell the car. You could have a complete electrical failure in your future. If the contacts under the dash are clean, then you are ok, and some moisture was able to enter the ABS computer storage area.
Keep us posted!
I got no oxide on the connectors under the dash.
I cleaned the ABS computer with electrical cleaner, put that dident help..
Im a bit confused about the connector with a diod between, the one i talked about. When diod connected the "service ABS" light is on, and when disconnected its out. It feels like the pre-owner hade made a own kind of "service ABS" activator, because the ABS computer whas out. Have no clue..
he has only seen one computer fail in all his years. I would also clean all of the sensors on the wheels. The
back ones are especially prone to becoming fouled up with gunk. Pull out the sensor from the knuckle and spray
it with brake cleaner.

THIS BULLETIN CANCELS AND SUPERSEDES DEALER SERVICE BULLETIN NO. 91-491-5,
DATED MARCH 1992. A NEW PART NUMBER HAS BEEN ADDED. ALL COPIES OF 91-491-5
SHOULD BE DISCARDED.
Condition: The ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) pump may run for one second, and
the "ABS Active" light may flash, five minutes after starting the vehicle. The
customer may describe this as "the motor runs by itself and the light flashes
while driving". The customer may also notice that the "ABS Active" light may not
flash when the vehicle reaches 4 mph (7 km/hr.)
Cause: During a normal vehicle start, the ABS goes thru a self-diagnostic
test, which includes running the motor and flashing the "ABS Active" light for
one second. This normally occurs when the vehicle reaches 4 mph (7km/hr).
However, if the voltage drops below 9.4 volts while cranking the engine, the ABS
self-test will stop, and will reset itself to repeat the test five minutes after
the voltage goes above 10 volts.
Correction: To address customer concerns, a revised ABS EBCM (Electronic
Brake Control Module) P/N 10223326 has been released for service, which changes
the reset time from five MINUTES to five SECONDS.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Second, the module listed (P/N 10223326) runs $606.65.

There was a big artical about debugging the ABS. relays and all that. I will try and find it.
Tomorrow... I hope...
