removing valve covers
I have a 85 vette and noticed oil leaking from valve covers. how hard to remove and which gaskets to buy. am not really mechanical, but hate paying big bucks for something i'm sure i can do any hints appreciated thanks

Replaced my 85 covers last week.
I put on the Edelbrock chrome and sealed them with the GM gaskets.
So far so good.
Took me about 2 hrs.Drivers side is a pain.While your are doing this,go ahead and change the plugs & wires.

Acinco51, before replacing the valve covers you might want to but a 11mm socket on the nuts and tighted them. This works sometimes because they they loosen over time. However, if it has been a while since they were changed, it might be time to do so. Not a hard procedure to do and shouldn't take over an hour, even if you clean the sludge from the valves and underneath the covers.
