Hello I was wondering if there are any tips for getting the air out of the cooling system.I Changed the coolant last year and I noticed the low coolant light on only for a few seconds until i move a bit.My mechanic said it's because the recovery tank is below the purge tank.Cooling system works as intended any suggestions thanks.
So, there are no leaks anywhere? Did the LC light come on immediately after you put the new coolant in? Have you changed out the stat recently?
You should burp it first. Crank it up with the cap off, and let it warm up til the stat is open (195 stock), then hold it at 2000rpm or so. Fill to the top when you see it get sucked down.
After that, add enough coolant to the overflow tank so that its above the 'cold' line on the stick.
I fill it to the top ( i think your's has the tank up on the cowl pass side) on the let it get to temp then add through the lower front overflow tank.... I then open the bleed valve on the thermostat housing and let it it bleed off the air ... you wil initially see like "steam"... let it vent until it turns to water... thn close it up...
I then take a spin making sure that thte thermostat opens etc. let it set for a bit to cool down and recheck your level when it is cold...
