Need help on driveshaft lenghts

Default Need help on driveshaft lenghts

I have a 700r4 transmission with a stallconverter on my 85 vette and since the car is 150 miles away i can't measure the difference in driveshaft lenghts does anyone know the lenght driveshaft i would need for this conversion.

There is no difference in the drive shaft lengths because of the stall speed of a converter.

sorry i didn't specify. I meant difference in the length of the driveshaft due to changing the stock 4speed to a 700r4 transmission the driveshaft must be a little smaller any help would be appreciated thanks

If only changing the trans and using the manual driveshaft (yoke without the balance lump on it ) , it fits perfectly , on in my conversion it did .

The 700R4 IS the stock 4 speed. If you mean that you are swapping in a 700R4, automatic, for the 4+3, 7 speed, manual trans, then the transmissions and the drive shafts are the same length.

I agree with CFI EFI. There are different driveshafts in the A4 and the manuals (M6/ 4+3) however, that is due to the rear end. A D44 takes a shorter driveshaft than a D36.

And not even THAT in 1984. Also, I think the 4+3 slip yoke fits the 700R4 trans.
