the center vents on my 96LT1 work very slowly when I have the ac on once air is moving thru them you can pushs the defrost button and the defrost works fine as does the floor vents but when you pusu ac or max ac it takes a few minutes to come out the front vents. I remember reading atread about the vacuum lines under the fuel rails and have checked them nothing worong that i can see any ideas

I have the same problem, but mine is not limited to AC. I tried it this morning with the heat and the same thing happened. I checked the 3-way valve by the passenger side cylinder head and it seemed fine. I'm getting ready to take it on in unless someone has any other suggestions.

I had a similar problem. It sounds like vaccum. The air diverter flap behind the front vents must not be working properly. There are vaccum hosed going from the controls to vaccum switches under the dash. I had to change the AC/heater control to get mine to work again. Good luck.
