Buy the a/c delco pump...they will last a LONG time...also keep your fuel level above 1/4 tank or more all the time...more gas keeps the pump cooler which extends its life.
A delco unit will cost between 85-95 dollars from a a/c delco parts supplier. The local dealer may/will be more...stay away from them.
Also you need to buy the fuel sock or strainer(it fits on the bottom of the pump..its a green filter and keeps debris out of the pump) and be sure you get a new gasket with the new pump...should be in the box.
Buy the 92-96 (LT1) pump. It had the double capasity compared to the 85-91 pump. A very easy swap. I might be a different connector. I swapped my 84 pump to a 92 and I just solderd the wires to the new pump.
i just put a walbro 340 pump (255lph) in my '94.. was a real easy swap, half hour to an hour.. hardest part was getting the 3 hoses off on top of the gas tank! they were pretty tight to pull off their respective pipes.
