Rebuilding Tranny Question
Hi all, tried to search for this first...
Anyone know if there is a good rebuild manual for a 700R4 tranny. I can pretty much rebuild everything on my 86, but never attempted the tranny and want to.
Any pointers also?

I was recently researching rebuilding my transmission myself and found the following article:

I haven't decided what I am going to do yet, but at ~$30 for the video and ~$45 for the video and manual it may be worth taking a flyer on.

I bought that video over 10 years ago. It is pretty good. Definately worth the 40 bucks. Rven if you do not do it yourself, it is worth the education. Like any video, lots of stuff is not covered. It is the best one of the 3 or 4 I have seen though. His company also sell or rents the specialty tools needed. Be sure to use 1 piece teflon sealing rings on the input shaft. Some kits come with both the 1 pc and the scarf cuts. Toss the scarf cut seals. This applies to the input shaft only. Pump stator, servo pistons etc use scarf cuts without issue.
