Its ticking upon acceleration.
Guys, on my 85 when I drive say 30mph and I hit it hard it will start a ticking noise. I back down because I don't want to harm her. Can you give me some ideas where to start looking? 65,000 miles.

Look for exhaust leaks around the bottom flange of the exhaust manifold and where it bolts up to the head, they are hard to hear at idle.If youhave an auto you can apply the brakes and nudge the gas pedal to see if you can hear it. Make sure theres no bystanderes in front of you

where is it coming from?
with your window open listen and see if it comes from the front or back
mine did it from the left rear and it was a disintigrated u-joint it eventually got much worse

Well I think its the gas! I filled it up with regular and forgot about it, hoping I could run a lower octane. I will have to buy a can or 2 of octane booster to throw in there...........
