I don't have my Vette back yet with its new 383, they are finishing installing the Super Ram plenum and runners. They were testing it with the old stuff on top because somebody had the left and right SR runners on the wrong side and thought there was a problem. Anyway, my SW polished headers have a gleaming golden heat color on them and really look . I polished them per advice from Corvette Kid NC and do they look great. Installer had to ream the bolt holes a bit so he could get all of the bolts started without binding. That was the only install glitch on the headers. These 1 5/8's should match up well with my SR, 383, automatic and my driving style.

Stahl, hands down. You can get over 2K in their stuff easily. But the new EM 1 7/8" pipes give them a run for the money, price-wise. Stahl offers some C4 packages that are nice but really specializes in catering to custom work for hardcore racers. Even then, unless you're running class rules where it's beneficial to wring out every last bit of HP, (and you know exactly what you need) the expense could not be otherwise justified. Top notch stuff though, I'm sure. Jere Stahl almost invented headers as we know them today!
I used to have watsons. I bought EM headers and then saw TPIS headers at the shoppe and compared them. I sold the EM headers and bought TPIS for myself
How do you determine which is best for a particular year/engine. I have a 92 Coupe with a LT-1. It has 47K miles on it. Purchased it in Jan. Like to just pep it up, not race. What will adding headers do to gas mileage ?
When looking at the headers the tube lengths were a little longer.. the collector was longer and inside the collector the pipes merged much smoother and sharper. The shoppe like them much better so i sold the ems and ordered tpis. Plus when mocked up on my block they hugged a bit tighter and had more ground clearance.. which was a concern with my car because its so low.
Dont mean to knock on em headers they're nice. Just the tiny bit of difference bugged me enough to take a $150 hit on selling them and going tpis. Im just **** like that

Headers increase the overall efficiency of an engine and so can only improve mileage. You are an excellent candidate for a smaller tube header such as the Stainless Works package. And I dare anyone to argue that point!

And in the eye of the application. I'm spraying nitrous and want large primaries because I'm more concerned about exhaust evacuation than any scavenging that may occur with smaller primaries.
