When using the keyless entry system it sometimes sounds the alarm and disables the start system in the car. I have had little help from the dealer. Has anyone else had this problem? :(
What year car is it '95? Are you sure it's a stock keyless system? That is not a common problem by any means, I could see it happening if it's an aftermarket system.
It's a '95 with keyless entry. The keyless entry seems to be working, occassionally you have to keep changing keys to get the car to start or it won't crank & the fuel pump won't run. Could it be the VATS system? I just keep changing keys until it starts. Should I buy a security override system?
You might want to check your pebble on your key and make sure it clean. It may also be worn out. Is this happening on the same key? If not check ignition cylinder and blow dust out of the hole with some compressed air. That should hopefully take care of your problem, if not you may have a worn cylinder where the contacts are making contact to your keys.
Get a paper clip and jump terminals 4 to 12 of the ALDL connector(that's the 4th one from the left on top and the one under it) and turn the key on and watch the speedo 1.1 CCM, 4.1 ECM, 9.1 ABS/ASR and let us know a code in the CCM around 51 to I think 51 is a VATs cylinder code and you might want to get a resister the same as the key pelet and jump and bypass the cylinder or you will have to replace the cylinder and keys.
