An ACDelco battery wiped out my battery cable. I got a replacement, but the wiring is not exactly the same and I'm wondering if it's a model year difference or if someone modified my wiring.
The difference is - on my current wire, one small wire comes out of the battery terminal and into a black tube - out of that black tube comes two orange wires that go into a loom and a connector, and one red wire that goes to a connector. On the cable I bought, the small wire coming from the terminal just goes straight into a connector.
Guess I'll answer myself for the sake of the archives. Althought the vendor had the same part number for 86-91 C4s, the cable is NOT the same. Use caution when buying a battery cable.
First-I don't know how the ACDelco battery could have wiped out your cable? On my 87 from the postive side of the battery is the normal power cable and a 2 smaller cables, haven't had to trace them, but I believe one goes to the power terminal behind the battery. And I'm not aware 87 is any different than 86 or 88.
